  1. Dec 23,  · A magnificent album all around. Not a single bad track. The Repertoire CD actually sound better than the Dunhill LP (US) have almost worn out. The follow up album "Deep Water" is a solid disappointment after this opus/5(14).

Sep 12,  · The band's finest moment, "Around Grapefruit" is pure pop just this side of psychedelia and if you like The Tremeloes' oeuvre or The Small Faces' "Ogden's Nut Gone Flake", then you are sure to enjoy this album. Very much of it's era, so guys with a 60s fixation (and Grumpy Old Hippies like yours truly) will have a good time here/5(31).

  4. Like the fruit after it was named, Grapefruit's debut album was at times too sweet, but was on the whole a promising and worthy effort. Devoted almost wholly to songs written by leader George Alexander, the record featured tuneful, upbeat mid-tempo late-'60s British rock with good harmonies, creative ornate arrangements, and a very slight and very sunny psychedelic tinge.9/

  6. Around Grapefruit, an Album by Grapefruit. Released in on Stateside (catalog no. S(S)L ; Vinyl LP). CD Repertoire / REP and "Ain't It Good" could be straight off of a session for Abbey Road. It certainly rates, many gifted-sounding songs to take in here. I guess it just didn't sound unique enough.
